Happy Oktoberfest from Alki Lodge No. 152!
In September we had a great turnout and some exciting developments. We received a motion to amend our by-laws regarding meetings taking place on a holiday. You will receive a copy of the proposed amendment in the mail and we will vote on this matter at our November meeting. Several brothers are planning to attend the St. John's installation in Ladysmith, B.C. on October 1 in continuation of our joint visitations with our sister Lodge to the north.
For October, we've got some great eating for you! Our stated meeting will be a catered affair and we will enjoy some delicious roast beef and potatoes. If you haven't already been contacted by our JW to RSVP (publication is close to the date!) then email rsvp@alki152.org to have a plate reserved for you. There will be a few extra plates but we expect to have our count before you read this. We also welcome our Most Worshipful Grand Master Michael Sanders who will be joining us this evening. We also expect to prove up a couple of our newest Master Masons. In all, it will be a grand evening at Alki!
But that isn't your only chance for a great Alki meal! Wednesday, October 26th at 6:00pm we will be hosting our brethren from the South Sound at the continuation of the Wednesday Night Lodge tradition. We'll have BBQ for you and costumes are optional. In fact, bring your silly socks as we'll have the Rainbow girls here to do a shoe shine so bring your scuffed shoes! Officers, wear Tuxedos, brothers and guests, suits are optional, as are costumes. Most important is to show up and make our brothers to the south earn the trowel back!
Looking ahead to November again just for a moment, please be aware that our November stated meeting will be on the 7th and will include election of officers for 2012, and discussion of the by-laws change. Please plan on that being a rather late night.
Here are the rest of the October events for Alki Lodge and our Concordant Bodies:
Brethren, your voices are heard. Please send any feedback, suggestions or concerns to wm@alki152.org and I assure you your support is much appreciated!
