The Consolidation of West Seattle Lodge, Service Lodge, and Alki Lodge

February Monitor Entry

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all who braved the elements to attend our Joint Installation and Consolidation celebration. The support and feedback that I have received thus far is very encouraging.

I would like to pay wages to our able technology committee. WBs David Brown and Don Moore have worked diligently to create a web presence that we all can be proud of. The Website is quickly becoming an electronic clearing house for information about all things Alki. This site coupled with a membership committee, chaired by our SW Isagani Dejesus, will be the vehicle through which we build excitement about the happenings of our lodge.

This month our stated meeting, held on the first Monday, (2/5/07 @ 7:30) will be preceded by a catered diner. The meal will be a celebration of Black History month. The southern inspired meal will include healthier versions of traditional favorites. Dinner will be served @ 6:30. Even if you have tried “southern food” in the past I think you may be surprised by the full flavor achieved with less fat. Although I may be biased -my mouth is watering as I type- you do not want to miss this!

The Ladies are also invited to share in an evening of fun and fellowship. My wife Claire will be sharing a recipe for my grandmother’s Banana Pudding during the meeting. Ladies, bring along your Ideas for the types of activities you would like to see in the coming months. Ladies Programs, however informal have been a tradition that I would like to see continued.

Details of upcoming events will be posted to http://alki152.org. And as always, if you have any thoughts or concerns contact me directly. Creating a great lodge experience is our shared responsibility. May all your resolutions become habits!

Please send any additions and corrections to WB David Brown (webmasterdave@alki152.org).
