Alki Lodge #152, Free and Accepted Masons of Washington
The Consolidation of West Seattle Lodge, Service Lodge, and Alki Lodge

April Monitor Entry

Greetings, as always I hope this month’s entry finds you in both good health and spirits. The brethren of Alki are in the midst of exciting times. As the challenges of consolidation quickly become a memory, our focus is changing from past challenges to future ones. With the assistance of the Grand Lodges Long Range Planning Committee we are addressing potential concerns proactively. I have called for the convening of an open committee which will meet on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 pm to discuss this new approach to lodge affairs. I use the term “open committee” because any and all concerned members are encouraged to attend.

Our stated communication will be held on April 2nd. Dinner will be catered by the Order of the Eastern Star and will begin at 6:15. The program will be a celebration of our Past Masters and long term members affectionately referred to as “old timers”. MW James O. Wood will be our guest speaker. Join us in celebration of the members who constitute the backbone of our lodge. The officers of the lodge and I will ensure any request for transportation assistance will be met. Contact information is listed on our website alki152.org. For those without internet access, I can be reached at 206 853 2744.

I would like to pay special wages to WBs Al Bartol and Elmer Lindseth for their diligent efforts combining the best of West Seattle Service Lodge and Alki’s School Awards Programs. The resulting program will honor significantly more students and be highlighted by a full 1 year scholarship to South Seattle Community College. The program will be held on April 23rd with dinner immediately following the program which will start at 6:30.

Our long tradition of visitation with Tacoma lodges continues on April 25th as we travel to Thornton F. McElroy #302 for Wednesday night lodge meeting. Details are available on our website or by calling 206 853 2744. Transportation assistance is available

Please send any additions and corrections to WB David Brown (webmasterdave@alki152.org).
