Spring is a time of new beginnings. As the paths of Alki and West Seattle-Service lodges have now become one we are reminded that like each spring, each fellowship provides us an opportunity to start anew. Human nature runs contrary to the Masonic tenant that proclaims the only contention should be who best will work and who best will agree. Realizing this statement to be true I encourage you to focus on our commonalities. Reflecting on the intensity of our commitment to goals we already share shows our differences for that they really are…speed bumps on the road to fruition!
Special thanks to the Grand Lodges Long Range Planning Committee for providing the catalyst for our conversation about the future of the lodge. The consolidation has given us the unique opportunity to both set and achieve lofty goals. In our success we honor both those who served in years gone by and those who, years from now, will marvel at what we’ve done. Change is not easy but it is inevitable.
Our next stated meeting will be March 5th. Dinner will be served at 6:15. The meeting will begin at 7:30. Also in march we will honor our ladies. We will have a program that will focus on fun and sharing the history of the varied couples of our lodge. As always check our website for updates and further information: http://alki152.org. I am excited about this program. It promises to be one that you definitely do not want to miss! I will see you there.
